Find the other side of your transaction

Those wishing to buy or sell shares of a particular company can take the next step. Members view the posts made by other members – posts show the price, number of shares and other details of the proposed transaction. Members can also make their own posts to buy or sell, naming their own price. Finally, members can send an “in-mail” to the maker of a post to start a direct dialogue.

Posts by sellers also include notice of any transfer restrictions (e.g., rights of first refusal) applicable to their shares. The SharesPost transaction process manages such restrictions seamlessly.

SharesPost has also teamed up with brokers specializing in the companies we make bulletin boards for. For a commission, brokers will consult with you on your proposed purchase or sale and manage the entire process on SharesPost for you.

Close your transaction

Find a post whose terms you like for a purchase or sale? You’re ready to click “Agree to Buy” or “Agree to Sell”. Follow simple step‐by‐step process for entering into contract with the buyer or seller. You can download contracts to implement your transaction to review with your attorney. Once you click to indicate you wish to execute a particular contract, our partner Echosign will email you a link to a page where you can electronically sign it. Note that until both parties electronically sign the contract, either party can cancel the potential transaction without obligation. When both parties have e‐signed, a binding agreement is created and U.S. Bank will contact you to initiate processing of your transaction (see Escrow to learn more).
